Canon Pixma MX 416?

I took this photo at the Canon concept store in V-Mall.
Email from Bimbim:
'RE:  Printer
Here's a list of questions I have
fax - are you going to have a dedicated line or are you going to share it with the rest of the house.
If you are going to share it with the rest of the house does PLDT have what they call an alternative ring?  This means that using the same phone line they will assign you a different phone number that you can give as a fax number.  If people use that then you will know it's a fax coming in.  If you do have this service then make sure that your printer can receive calls on an alternative ring - in my canon it is known as DPRD setting.
Scan - are you going to scan or fax out multiple pages at a time?  If you are make sure you get one with a document feeder.
Wireless Printing - since you work with your netbook all the time.  It would be nice to work with a wireless printer.  This way, even if you are in another part of your house you will be able to print without having to connect your printer to your computer.  Make sure the signal can go through the walls of your house.  Even if it can't, it would be nice to have it in case you upgrade your netbook, you can keep both netbooks and use the printer on both.
Canon PIXMA MX410 can do all the above - for additional service look below - regular price
Photos - do you want to be able to just plug in your memory card and print directly from the card to the printer?  Canon PIXMA MX420 - has the option for memory card - reasonably priced
do you need it to print from your phone too? Canon PIXMA MX882 - has all of the above incl print from phone - for me I think this is a little too high priced.'
The closest thing to the MX410 that I could find was the MX 416:

Continuation of Bimbim's email to me:
Other questions
how fast do it have to be
can you program different types of  computers - i.e. pc and mac to print at the same time (you never know)
can it be converted to the ink thing (you know what I mean)
what quality of printing do you want - average or high end?
I am using Canon because I am sure of what it can do AND I know you have a good selection there.
Read your blog:  Do not do a cost per scan vs xerox bec you can convert your scanner so the ink is so much cheaper.
Tell your friend - even if he does not know how to use a computer to copy from a scanner requires you pressing two buttons only.  One to make sure it's on copy second to choose colored or black and white copy.
I have had my 4 in 1 for over 2 years and it's quite reliable.  My other one broke down after 4 years.  After 4 years the technology has changed so much that it;s not a problem if it dies after that many years.  With the price of new 4 in 1s it may be cheaper to upgrade.
FAVOR:  Can you check something for me can they change a Canon MP360 printer head (bec it does not work) and convert it to a continuous ink - thanks a lot - thinking of sending my faulty one home to have this done - I'm hoping that they can do this.  Also a Canon MX320 to continuous ink - sorry to ask you to do this but would like to confirm this before bringing my printers home.'
If you have any techie questions, post them in the comments section of this post, and I can forward them to Bimbim.   The blog she was referring to is Looking for a 4-in-1.

South of Market

The brown and white building in front of the trees is PhilPlans Corporate Center.
Residences also had this to say about SoMa's leasing office: 'It is just unfortunate that they still have not found anyone to rent the unit even if they have been showing it' and ' It simply means that we have not found anyone who is in love with the unit enough to rent it.'

I can easily imagine life in BGC:

10 am: see doctor at St. Luke's Global or breakfast at Reyes Barbecue Bonifacio Stopover
3 pm:  Cafe Scientifique event

8:30 pm to 3 am: Midnight Mercato

Incidentally, I learned through 1 vs 100 on Fb that Driving While Sleepy is Worse Than Drunk Driving.  Living in BGC considerably cuts down the risks of sleepy driving.

SoMa

Welcome to my new advertorialiser, Residences.

I want to give her a banner ad but I don't know how to put one and am still looking for a developer to do it.

How long will this view last before buildings take over?

Anyway, I loved my stay at SoMa and am sorry that Residences is renting out her unit, as she thinks that her South of Market unit will fetch double the rent of her Quezon City unit, where she plans to stay when she gets back from Canada.

Residences has offered me her place as my weekly veggie day hangout.

If she were to stay in SoMa, I would schedule my stays when I go to Makati and BGC, especially for the late nights out when it would mean a shorter drive to a bed than going home to San Juan.

The building on the left is another wing of South of Market.
When I stayed at SoMa, Residences and I had come from dinner in Makati.  After dinner, my client who also lived in BGC wanted to go to bed na so we decided that we would meet in her Hamptons condo in the morning.

I wanted to walk to Hamptons, but Residences insisted that, because I got tired from walking to and from Market! Market! with my laptop, that I wouldn't make it to Hamptons.  She insisted that she drive me over.

My client ended up meeting me in SoMa, because she had a driver.  Her driver made a few wrong turns, she said, but she said that it was easy finding it.

The view from Residences' South of Market unit.
We met in the lobby while her car stayed in the driveway for about a minute.

She was impressed that the guard had to clear her before she entered, and was also impressed with the big lobby.

I had told the lobby guard that I was expecting a guest, and the guard immediately radioed the gate guard.

The lobby guard asked me if I was the new owner of the unit.  I told him that I was just a guest.

Residences noted that the guards of SoMa can stop people from entering the premises by courteously asking people where they were going, and so on.

Residences would leave the windows open but her stuff stayed safe.
I really enjoyed the huge windows of SoMa, and two of the three rooms were huge.  The dining and TV areas were also big.  I didn't feel confined.  I had been to a two-bedroom Rockwell condo; the SoMa unit felt just as big.

She actually liked the unit because it was cat-friendly.

She showed me the gym: clean, quiet.

The pool is SoMa's.
Even though I had been using a bathroom outside my assigned bedroom, the second biggest one in the unit, it was Residences who noticed that there was a leak on the wall that could lead to a much bigger damage.  When Century Properties checked their records, they found out the previous owner had reported it but that nothing had been done.  So even if the warranty period had lapsed, Century still said that they would shoulder the repair of the leak.

When I showed Residences this post, she emailed me this:

'You can also add that they actually started fixing it within 2 weeks of my reporting it and they finished it a week and a half later.  It was easy to work with the Asset Property Manager once we figured out what was needed and expected.
If I had known that I wasn't going back, I would have taken more photos.
The leasing office that's handling the lease is also very professional and pre-empts the need of the owner.'
